Calculated at checkout

British breeds, matured 28 days, sold as a whole joint. approx. 1.3kg (2lb 13oz)

Here is an opportunity to try a steak with a difference! Picanha steak is one of the most popular cuts of beef eaten in Latin America, especially Brazil, yet it is rarely available in the UK. These cuts of beef are chosen for their supreme succulence and superb taste. These finest Picanha steaks are cut from the rump cap (top rump muscle) and matured for 28 days to guarantee maximum tenderness and a fullness of flavour. The Picanha has a good fat covering along the top edge and is widely regarded as the finest, and most expensive, beef cuts available.

Cooks tips

It is usually slowly cooked over a flame grill, open fire or barbecue as steaks or cut into 2-3 inch thick cubes and served on skewers like a kebab. To emulate the Brazilian method of cooking, the Picanha should not be marinated but seasoned only with coarse sea salt. Serve with fluffy white rice and roast vegetables. Beef Picanha can also be roasted in the oven.
