PORK LOIN STEAKS - sweet and tender

Calculated at checkout

Outdoor reared in the UK - Packed individually - approx. 226g (8oz)

Pork loin steaks are sweet and tender. Cut from the chump end which lies between the loin and the leg. They are often known as chump chops. When our butcher bones the chump he cuts it into a ¾” or 2cm thick loin steak.

These pork loin steaks are certainly a good quality cut of meat and are a little like the pork equivalent of a fillet steak. As they are cut from the tenderloin they are a soft, easy to chew meat.

Storage and handling

Fridge: Place in the coldest part of the fridge. Use within three days.

Freezing: Store pork loin steaks in your freezer for 3 months, separating with waxed paper. Pack in sealed, polythene bags or a rigid, airtight, container.

Cooks tips

Pork loin steaks are perfect for grilling or pan-frying with a moderate heat to avoid crisping. Dredge the steaks in flour first and make hot gravy from the juices. Add in a smooth sauce, gravy or simple apple chutney, with potatoes and freshly prepared steamed vegetables and you have a lovely meal.

Our master butchers tip is to let you know that loin chops have a T-bone whilst you can recognize chump chops by the round bone.
